On August 14, 2021 we catered one of the most beautiful weddings we have ever been a part of! Siena and Malkolm’s Shuswap wedding took place on the sprawling lawns of their family’s lakeshore home in Chase. The weather was perfect and the smoke even cleared for their special day, leaving only a trace along the shore. This inspirational couple and their family endured the ups and downs of planning a wedding during the pandemic, and during fire season. They did an amazing job, and along with the caring and professional help of Renee Potvin at Wild Sage Events, they successfully brought everyone together for this safe and stunningly gorgeous event.
After the ceremony the guests enjoyed a passed appetizer plate as they mingled and chatted in the afternoon sun. The wedding appetizers consisted of crispy Prosciutto Wrapped Prawns, Smoked Salmon Crostini with Lemon Dill Crème Fraiche, and Coconut Breaded Chicken Breast Skewers with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce. The guests loved the assortment! We made a special wedding appetizer plate for the bride and groom and there were compliments all around.
While they enjoyed their appetizers we set up a dinner of Roast Baron of Beef, Paprika Herb Chicken, Roasted Lemon Herb Potatoes, Basmati Rice Pilaf and delicious salads with fresh baked buns. Many guests came back for second helpings, and we made sure there was enough to feed them and more.
After our cake cutting service, the guests danced late into the evening, and as we cleaned up and loaded up, we were left with the feeling that we had been part of something both magical and special.
