Dr. David Ciriani and Sage Hills Dental welcomed a new dentist, Matt Francisco, into their Kamloops practice on April 27th 2017. Nourishing Gourmet had a wonderful time catering the event and grand re-opening of Dr. Ciriani's office. The table was full of delectable appetizers including our Mini Roast Beef Yorkshire Puddings, Fig and Brie Filo Tartlets, Smoked Salmon Crostini and Caprese Skewers with fresh basil. The Morroccan Chicken Lollipops with Chipotle Cilantro Cream were a sweet and smoky hit.
Caprese Skewers with Balsamic Glaze
Here at Nourishing Gourmet we love using a good quality, aged balsamic vinegar for flavour and presentation. Like a fine wine is aged in oak barrels, balsamic vinegar is aged in balsam wood barrels and can range from having a deep earthy flavour to pronounced citrus, fruity notes. When reduced into a glaze, the flavours become sweeter and more concentrated. This makes balsamic perfect for putting the final touches on appetizer dishes such as our Fig and Brie Tartlets and our Capreses Skewers with fresh basil. One of the most delicious uses for a good balsamic glaze is simply drizzling it on a plate with some good quality olive oil and dipping in some fresh Sourdough Bread chunks. At Sage Hills we topped this off with our warm, roasted Red Pepper Dip and created a sensation.
