At this time of year our team has been having pleasant reflections of a beautiful catering event in the Shuswap in 2019. Nourishing Gourmet Catering was thrilled to be chosen as the caterer for this very special, one of a kind 50th Anniversary Celebration at a private residence on Shuswap Lake. Our catering client wanted everything to be perfect for his parents’ celebration.
On his beautiful deck above the lake, he staged only the best of décor and furniture - picking hand-painted china imported for the event from Europe, special cutlery and unique flowers, as well as talented musicians playing in the background during this intimate and special celebration of his parents’ Golden Anniversary. Being a part of this vision was a magical and memorable experience for The Nourishing Gourmet Catering Crew.
The meal started out with some appetizers of Iberico Ham Crostini, Fig and Brie Phyllo Cups with Okanagan stone fruit Chutney, Prawn Lollipops and Champagne.

The main meal started off with a Fig and Pear Salad with Pecans, which our team plated with fresh ingredients on site. This was followed by a delicious appetizer of Miso Marinated Black Cod.

Our client wanted the main meal to be warm and rustic, and we delivered by providing a family style menu of Beef Wellington with Red Wine Demi, Rustic Grilled Vegetables, Honey Dill Glazed Carrots, Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes, and Fresh Baked Butterflake Rolls with Whipped Butter
And finally, we couldn’t see a better way to finish this beautiful meal than with a delicious Anniversary cake, homemade vanilla ice cream, and fireworks over Shuswap Lake that rival any we have ever seen.
